5.2.2. Specific Roles and Responsibilities at the Local Level

This is where health surveillance begins
Local Level = detection + documentation + reporting
High index of suspicion for notifiable disease- Recognize and escalate unusual events
Record data accurately using standardized forms- Demographics/Clinical Features/Onset dates/Risk factors (travel, occupation)
Timely reporting of notifiable diseases to the Ministry of Health or relevant authority 
Specimen collection-appropriate samples/ correct labelling/Proper storage and transport/Coordinate with laboratories for -Timely testing/Result. Follow-up.
Begin appropriate clinical management/ Implement infection prevention and control measures e.g. Isolation (if required)
